Whats App - WVRC Hacking Group

Summer evenings are here! Are you bored with hacking out alone? Would you like to meet up with like minded members for hacking out?

We are going to reactivate the hacking group on Whats App, which will allow like-minded members who want to meet up with others at various locations to go hacking. Once a member of the WhatsApp group the intention is for us to collectively suggest a location and time, preferably with a bit of parking, and have some knowledge of the area for us to explore the countryside on our horses.

Lynne will co-ordinate the group and is local to Trellech (Beacons Hill) and Devauden (Chepstow Park Woods). She will arrange a couple of rides in these locations. Hopefully those engaged in the group know of some more places and we can set out from here too.

If you are interested joining this group, WhatsApp Lynne on 07813208692.

She will add you to the group and hopefully we can arrange some good outings! Here's to happy hacking

Competition Passes - if you want to enter Qualifiers, please read this information from BRC

Previously at all BRC qualifiers each competitors has had to pay a pre-entry fee which generates income for BRC which has covered the costs of scoring materials and rosettes for qualifiers, official steward training, hat tags, various other training and championships. Moving forwards from October for the 2026 winter qualifiers, pre-entry fees will be replaced by a competition pass. The competition passes will be £30 plus transaction fee (for riders with 1-2 horses) and £45 plus transaction fee (for riders with 3 or more horses) for a rolling 12 months.

We know that half of BRC clubs cover the cost of pre-entries for their members, so to ensure that this can continue but also covers eventualities of both the members and clubs paying for pre-entries, the competition pass is available for purchase by either the member or by the club. For Wye Valley Members, each member is responsible for purchasing their pass.

The Competition Pass
• Will be an annual pass, valid from date of purchase for 12 months
• Will only be valid with an active club membership
• Allows the holder to enter as many classes as they wish at their area qualifiers
• Members with a competing membership may compete with any club, they will not need to purchase a second pass if competing for two different clubs.
• Members must have a valid club membership and valid competing pass at time of competing, the onus is on the rider to ensure they have up-to-date memberships.

The BRC Competitions Pass is now live and can be found available to purchase on Sport:80

Login page is here.

The user guides for members to purchase the pass are available in the Resources section of Sport:80. Login and you will see Resources in the list of options on the left hand side.

As Wye Valley Riding Club has traditionally covered half the cost of pre-entries, the Committee has decided that in order to support members to compete at Qualifiers, £5 will be deducted from the entry fee of each class at any qualifier for up to a total of 3 qualifier entries giving members a potential saving of £15, which is half the fee of the competition pass.

If you are having any difficulties in purchasing the competition pass then please do not hesitate to reach out to Wye Valley Riding Club who will be happy to assist you.
